Relocation cards for kids

My son started first grade in Madrid. I can't even describe the worry that took over me a few days before the school year began.

Being part of the education system for years didn’t ease the anxiety.

All night I kept thinking...

How will he communicate?

He doesn't know English, and certainly not Spanish…

How will he express himself?

What if he needs to go to the bathroom?

If he’s hungry? Sad? Homesick…

For days I thought about how I could help him, and finally, I came up with an idea!

Relocation cards!

Relocation cards are cards with text and a matching illustration, covering essential needs for those first days.

After his first day at school, when I asked him how it went, he said:

"Good thing I had the cards."

So, as a gift for the start of the year, I prepared printable relocation cards in Spanish, to make it a little easier for kids in their first days at school.
